Terms of Service

DevDesignKit provides free, browser-based tools for developers and designers: JSON formatting, encoding and decoding, regular-expression testing, color contrast checking, gradient and box-shadow generation, image conversion and compression, alongside technical cheat sheets and reusable code snippets. All processing runs locally in your browser. The page you load is a static HTML document, and the scripts it contains execute entirely in your browser's memory. We do not upload, store, or transmit your inputs or files to any server, and using the tools requires no account, no login, and no connection beyond the initial page load.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the site for your personal and professional purposes, free of charge. You may not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape or republish substantial portions of the site, misrepresent the origin of the content, or use the tools to process unlawful material. These restrictions are standard for a free service: they protect the site itself, its readers, and the people whose code or text you might paste into the tools. We may suspend or discontinue the service, or any part of it, at any time without notice.

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. That means what it says: there is no quality bar we promise to meet, no uptime target, and no guarantee that a tool will behave identically in every browser you open.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at any particular time, that defects will be corrected, or that any tool output, cheat sheet, or snippet will be accurate, complete, reliable, or suitable for your use case.

The word “warranty” carries real weight here. Every software product has its limits, and a tool that reformats your data, re-encodes your images, or rewrites your CSS can change what it touches. By accepting the service “as is”, you accept that risk for anything you process, which is also why the processing happens entirely in your browser: your data never travels to a server.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DevDesignKit and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability arising from or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the service (which is zero, as the service is free).

Nothing here changes the practical deal: free tools, used at your own discretion.

The tools operate on whatever input you provide and produce output accordingly. There is no human review step in between: the result you see is a direct, local transformation of the input you gave it, computed entirely in your browser. You are solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and validating the correctness, security, and fitness of any output before relying on it. For example, generated code, compressed or converted images, and regular expressions should be checked against your own requirements and standards. We are not responsible for any consequences arising from your use of the output, including in production systems.

The site's user interface, design, source code, original content, cheat sheets, and snippets, together with the DevDesignKit name and branding, are owned by or licensed to DevDesignKit and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership interest in them to you. In practical terms, that covers the layout, the written explanations around each tool, and the example snippets, all of which appear on the page as we published them.

Your input, meaning the text, files, or data you paste, drag, or otherwise process with a tool, remains yours. Because processing happens entirely in your browser and your data is never uploaded to us, we never take possession of it and claim no ownership over it. That principle holds for every format the tools handle, from a pasted JSON document to a dropped image file.

The tools, cheat sheets, and snippets are provided for general informational and technical convenience only. They do not constitute legal, financial, accounting, tax, security, or other professional advice. You should consult a qualified professional before making decisions in these areas. Your reliance on any output or content is at your own risk.

When in doubt, treat this site as documentation, not as counsel.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, please stop using the site. The “Last updated” date is the simplest way to tell whether the version you are reading is current, so it is worth checking before you rely on an older copy.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States, to the extent permitted by applicable law. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Section 1 says the site does not upload, store, or transmit your inputs or files to any server. RFC 9110 defines the semantics of HTTP requests and responses, including which request methods carry a payload, and a static tool page like this one has no endpoint for the client tools to call.

Section 1 also describes the tools as browser-based, with all processing running locally. The HTML Standard specifies the browser environment where those scripts execute, which is why a static page can do real work with no server-side code involved.

Section 5 asks you to validate tool output against your own requirements and standards. For accessibility-related results, such as the contrast values produced by the design tools, WCAG 2.2 is the reference to check those results against.

Section 1 lists the technical cheat sheets among the site's free resources. The HTTP status codes sheet is based on the IANA registry, the authoritative list of status code semantics that RFC 9110 also points to.
